About the Magazine

DÉPAYSANTS is a student-led art, fashion, and culture magazine founded at The American University of Paris. We give creative individuals from AUP and around Paris a platform to share their work and develop professional portfolios. Our goal is to become a point of intersection for all forms of visual art, a space without discrimination. We support everything from traditional fine art to contemporary creative forms. Our magazine is an interdisciplinary representation of the innovation and individuality found within Paris.

The Team

Co Editor-in-chief

Fiona Fortunato (@fionanavona)

I am thrilled to continue serving as Co-Editor-in-Chief of DÉPAYSANTS this year. As a PPE major with double minors in Film Studies and Middle Eastern & Islamic Cultures, I’ve always been driven by wide-ranging interests that have shaped my work at DÉPAYSANTS over the past few years. I am especially passionate about analyzing the arts and pursuing my own creative projects, and I look forward to collaborating once again with such an inspiring team.

Co Editor-in-chief

Isabelle Turpin (@isabellecl_)

I am thrilled to be directing Depaysants this year as Coeditor in Chief! As a student of art history and literature, writing for the magazine has been a wonderful experience, and I am excited to have the opportunity to continue to grow Depaysants by supporting new voices. Through Depaysants, I have had many opportunities to connect with Parisian art and culture and continue to explore my artistic and literary passions. Depaysants has created a community for young emerging artists, and I hope that my role at the magazine will allow me to grow this community as it evolves.

CREATIVE Director | Online director

Kaetanno Fernandes (@kaetannoaugusto)

I’m excited to step into the role of Creative Director at DÉPAYSANTS this year. After working with the magazine as a photographer, I’m eager to bring my experience in design, media production, branding, and fashion to shape its creative direction. With the goal of experimenting with evolving fashion media I see fashion media as a language anyone can understand and I’m passionate about telling stories that connect different voices through strong visuals and innovative concepts.

communicationS DIRECTOR

Lillian Healy (@lillianhealyy)

As a graduate student in the Global Communications Fashion track, I am excited to start with Depaysants this year as the Communications Manager! I am happy for the opportunity to support such an artistic team and help the vision of the magazine come to life. I look forward to creating content and getting engaged with the fashion and art community in Paris. Living in Paris for my second year, I love this city and cannot wait to continue exploring it!

art director

Raul Lomelij (raullomelij)

As an artist and curator. My creative practice blends fine art, fashion, and design, and I’m inspired by the ways images can tell stories that feel both intimate and universal. My goal is to create a visual dialogue that feels timeless, thoughtful, and alive, celebrating culture, beauty, and the details that give Depaysants its soul.

Assistant Art Curator

Morgan Zuloaga

As an art history student and aspiring curator, my creative practice is shaped by a love of fine art, fashion, and design. From my travels, I draw inspiration from diverse cultural perspectives and the ways images can tell stories that feel both intimate and universal. At Dépaysants, I am excited to create a visual dialogue that feels thoughtful, alive, and rooted in culture, beauty, and expression.

Film and Music editor

Polina Bryan

As a Global Communications student living in Paris for a third year now, I am thrilled to be the Film and Music editor for DEPAYSANTS magazine! My goal is to explore the deeper music and film scene in Paris, and the ways in which it sets the stage for people from all over the world to engage with the iconic arts scene of an inherently creative city, and enrich it through new cultural lenses. Paris has become an integral part of my identity, and I am passionate about seeing how films and music help people negotiate and refine their own identities through artistic expression.

Fashion Editor

Isabella Logue (@isabellalogue)

As a city full of romanticism and mystique, there is no better inspiration for art than Paris. Since moving here nearly four years ago, I have been introduced to so many artistic outlets and discovered my love for writing when I served as Deputy Editor for AUP’s Peacock Plume. I am excited to continue this passion here at Dépaysants, surrounded by such an amazing team!

Social Media Manager | Resident Journalist

Chloe Obolensky

A graduate student in the MAGC program at the American University of Paris, fast-tracking her studies with a focus in fashion. With a background in public relations and editorial experience at Bon Appétit, Chloe brings a sharp eye for storytelling and cultural trends. A natural leader both in and out of the studio- where she also teaches cycling- she’s passionate about merging fashion, media, and voice.

RESIDENT JOURNALIST

Kalina Vasileva (@kalinauvassileva)

As a PPE major with strong passion for art, fashion, and aesthetics, I am excited to bring together my academic perspective and creative inspirations at Dépaysants. I especially value art that has a social concept, and I can’t wait to contribute to this space where artists are free to express themselves.

Resident journalist

Genaro Ng (@9enaro)

Having previously contributed as a freelance writer, I am excited to officially join the Depaysants team as a resident journalist. Through my studies in International Business and Fashion studies, I’ve gained an affinity for fashion, marketing, and consumer behaviour. I strive to share my perspective on topical issues in Paris’s global space for artists, creators, and consumers alike.

Resident Journalist

Masha Krupnova (@m444sha)

Admiring all things creative and abstract, I am excited to explore and write about young artists in Paris, a city that attracts and welcomes talented individuals from all over the globe. While diverse in backgrounds and perspectives, there is something that they all share: it is the love for the act of creation. A film and philosophy double major, and a creative writing minor, I’ve always had endless appreciation for art, in all its various forms and shapes. Joining DÉPAYSANTS, I can’t wait to share the voices of creative people across different art mediums and capture them through my writing: this will be my love letter to two things so dear to my heart, Paris and Art.
