2023-2024 editorial Team

Editor-in-chief

Sarah “Figgy” Cronin (@srcronin)

After joining DÉPAYSANTS in my first year at AUP, I fell in love with the creative outlet and community it provided. Through DÉPAYSANTS, my passion for journalism is combined with my love for art and design via our curation of Paris’ finest student-made art on the yearly issue. Getting to work with the DÉPAYSANTS team to provide a platform for young artists, writers and creators in Paris has been one of my favorite parts of my time at AUP so far.

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER & ASSISTANT EDITOR

Annalisa Cabral (@_annalisacabral)

I am excited to share yet another year with the team to continue building a bridge of my studies in communication and passions for art & fashion. My time with DÉPAYSANTS has impacted my experience in Paris and as a student at AUP tremendously. DÉPAYSANTS both challenges and thoughtfully allows my skills to be used towards the creation of a platform for young artists to showcase their work. I couldn't have dreamed of a better team to be a part of.

Film and music editor

Zara Abubakar (@zara_chrome)

I’m so happy to be continuing with DÉPAYSANTS in my final year at AUP, with our new editorial board position of Film and Music Editor. Cinema is so highly regarded in France’s cultural history, and Paris is proof of this - having what seems to be a movie theatre on every corner, frequent film festivals, and experimental cinema events. Paris has so much to offer when in terms of its music scenes as well, and I hope to explore this further through interviews with independent musicians and filmmakers.

ONLINE DIRECTOR

Hannah Jakobs (@thewandering_i)

To appreciate art requires nothing but the desire to do so. I'm honored to join the DÉPAYSANTS team to bolster emerging artists, designers, and other creatives pushing boundaries in the art world. Majoring in Art History after working in the financial sector for five years in New York City, I'm eager to explore the artistic community in Paris.

CREATIVE EDITOR

Abby Cohen (@abbyrcohen)

I am so excited to continue working with this incredible team as Content Editor. Moving into the art world when I came to Paris was a rocky start but wonderful people like those at DÉPAYSANTS have helped me adjust and learn in a creative environment. Through this magazine I hope to further intertwine my love for art with my desire to understand how an undertaking like this works successfully.

fashion EDITOr

Caroline Garell (@carolinegarell)

As the Fashion Editor for DÉPAYSANTS, I am dedicated to infusing style and creativity into our publication. With a passion for fashion that knows no bounds, I curate and showcase the revolving world of fashion, student fashion profiles, feasible wardrobe styling tips and up-and-coming designers in the industry. My goal is to inspire fellow students to embrace their unique fashion identities and use clothing as a means of self-expression. Through my role as a fashion editor, I aim to foster a sense of community and creativity within our school while highlighting the diverse and evolving world of fashion.

social media director

Hannah Myers (@mahamyers)

As an Art History and Fine Arts double major at AUP, I have a deep appreciation for both art and the city. I am thrilled to be a part of DÉPAYSANTS this year, working to showcase and promote student work and art around Paris.

ART DIRECTOR

Emily Nestler (@emi1y.rose)

As an artist and appreciator of many mediums, I could not have asked for a better role in DÉPAYSANTS than to seek out budding artistic talent and help create a network of artists to appreciate and support each other. Moving to Paris and joining the AUP community has allowed my own artistic inspiration to flourish, and I am excited to be sharing this passion of mine with so many others in this vibrant and diverse city that I am lucky enough to call home.
