Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, I moved to Paris to study art history and pursue my own artistic endeavors as a visual artist. Drawing from my previous experience working at other publications at both the editorial and staff levels, I formed DÉPAYSANTS in hopes of opening doors for kindred creatives at AUP to showcase the lives and art of youth today.

Hailing from New York, I spent my time in the city and upstate, always taking an interest in the arts. My home environment allowed me to attend a diverse selection of exhibitions and art events, and work at mom-and-pop studios. Over the years I’ve learned to develop my taste, and I joined the magazine to help students get their work exhibited.

Originally from near New York City, I’ve had exposure to its incredible museums for my entire life which have helped foster my love for the arts. I also grew up in fine arts classes and found my passion for art history along the way which has allowed for a deep appreciation of both the craftsmanship of being an artist and the discipline of being an art historian. I joined the magazine because its mission of giving space and exposure to our talented and diverse community is something I strongly support.
Creative Director
Harriet Pok
Originally from Singapore, my experience with different cultures growing up, and interest in the art industry, as well as social issues, has made me interested in allowing freedom for people to express themselves. There is peace to be found in creating, and harmony in dialogues formed between creatives. DÉPAYSANTS supports and believes in moving forward as a generation: controlling and sharing ourselves with the world in the way we want to in an eco-friendly and sustainable manner.
