Selected Works: Pauline de Fontgalland
Recently graduated from the Ecole des Beaux-arts de Paris, Pauline de Fontgalland is a French sculptor based in St-Ouen. Passionate about forging that she has been practicing for 4 years now, she develops a formal research based on an intuitive and experimental approach to matter. Paper, cardboard, salvaged materials mingle without hierarchy with the sensuality of the metal. Her practice is characterized by a series of displacements and (sometimes ephemeral) assemblages through which she tries to introduce new relations of necessity between the elements, in the image of an ecosystem and in search of a balance that is always provisional, always to be reconsidered.
