Your Guide to Parisian Autumnal Style
Written by Isabella Logue
And just like that, it is autumn once again. Brown and golden hues replace the treetops' vibrant summer green. The leaves are whisked away by the crisp morning air, dancing toward the dewy ground. Paris appears as if the entire city were projected through the warm sepia tones of a vintage film camera, enveloping the city in an air of nostalgia. If you’re anything like me, you likely want your wardrobe to reflect this feeling.
Embrace the romantic and cozy autumnal ambiance of the French capital this season by trying out some of my favorite trends that I've noticed in the streets and on the runway.
Pop of Gingham
If you want to revamp your style without having to buy a brand-new wardrobe, consider investing in a statement trench. I have seen this particular Sezané gingham print trench (officially called the “Clyde Trench Coat”) across all my social media, and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. This quintessentially French brand took a classic silhouette and made it bold, and it’s taking the city by storm.
Tailored Structure
Clean lines and sleek tailoring—simple, yet timeless. The structural elements and fit of your garments are what truly elevate the look of an outfit from cheap to chic. The recent Luisa Spagnoli Fall 2025 collection was filled with the classic (if not predictable) deep browns and burnt auburns of autumn, but their immaculate craftsmanship and keen eye for details successfully set them apart as a leading stylistic influence for this season.
Skinny Scarf Revival
If your mind immediately goes to the early 2000s when thinking of skinny scarves, then you’re not alone. However, Burberry reclaimed this forgotten trend on their runway this London Fashion Week, proudly proclaiming that these accessories lost to time are back and better than ever.
Cheetah Is Out, Zebra Is In
In the past few years, we have seen cheetah and cow print take over every surface of our wardrobes, from shoes and bags to jeans and tank tops. According to 16 Arlington, a luxury British house, it is time to include zebra print in the mix. In the same vein as gingham, embracing zebra is one way to be bold while still adhering to traditional autumn silhouettes.
This Season’s “It Girl Bag”
Perhaps the most popular item I’ve seen on the streets of Paris this season is Louis Vuitton’s “Noé” bucket bag. Though originally designed in 1932 for the purpose of carrying four wine bottles (it truly can’t get more French than that), this bag has come in and out of style in the nearly 100 years since then. Its hefty size and drawstring detail make it a practical bag for autumn, while the unique shape and signature monogram give it a chic Parisian touch.
