1997 Fashion Big Bang is an ongoing exhibition that focuses specifically on fashion & style from the year 1997. It is described as “both a high point of 1990s fashion and the gateway to the new millennium. It brought a flurry of collections, shows, new appointments, openings and events that defined the fashion scene as we know it today. Such was its impact that 1997 can be thought of as the launching pad for 21st century fashion.” Reduced tickets from €13.

Surréalisme au Féminin? at Musée Montmartre

The Musée Montmartre Jardins Renoir notes, “Men were not the only driving force behind Surrealism and its transgressive orientation: many women played a decisive role in the movement, but their works were neglected by museums and undervalued by the art market.” The exhibition seeks to put a spotlight on female surrealist artists that were commonly reduced to mere footnotes until recently. Featuring more than 150 works, the exhibition will feature pieces in various mediums by artists such as Lee Miller, Dora Maar and Leonora Carrington. Reduced tickets from €10.

Two Retrospectives at the Cinémathèque Française

The Cinémathèque Française is beginning two notable retrospectives, among others. The film organization is hosting retrospectives on Warner Brothers' golden age during the peak of the Hollywood studio system, and Peter Bogdanovich. The Warner Brothers programming includes classic films such as The Big Sleep (1946), Casablanca (1942) and Gold Diggers of 1933 (1933). The Bogdanovich retrospective sees films such as The Target (1966), The Last Picture Show (1971) and What’s Up, Doc? (1972).
